Roadspace Project Planner, London, Ringway Jacobs Ltd, UK, Highways Asset Management for Transport for London

·     Using project planning tools such as Exor - Asset & Infrastructure Management System (AIMS) 4.0 preventative and reactive highway works orders covering - (paving, patching, pedestrian guard rail defects including tree works, lighting & resurfacing schemes) are scheduled, planned, permitted, and submitted to the primary recipient – Transport for London (TFL), and the relevant boroughs for authorisation in compliance with the New Traffic Management Act (TMA 2004) and New Roads and Streets Works Act (NRSWA).

·     Ensure that all works are carried out legally and in accordance with TMA, NRSWA and TFL requirements for working within the public highway and footways, thereby minimising hazards to the general public and fines in terms of Section 74 overruns and Fix Penalty Notices.

·     Use project management tools such as Primavera 3.0, MS Project 2007 etc, to plan both reactive and preventative projects highlighting the resources activity schedules, critical path(s), baseline and milestone(s) associated with each project.

·     Produce full project plans illustrating work breakdown structures, resource allocation, cost and techniques for road reconstruction works.

·     Liaise with Works Supervisors, project managers and other colleagues to ensure that comprehensive detailed works orders are planned, permitted, updated using Exor - AIMS and issued out to gangs via PDA devices.

·     Develop and maintain close working relationships with relevant stakeholders such as Local Authorities(Boroughs), Transport for London Buses and members of the primary client’s operational staff such as street works coordinators, inspectors etc., and ensure that notices reflects plans created by construction engineers, designers and project planners.

·     Liaise with operation managers, works supervisors, gangs, members of the network control room and other external specialist sub-contractors e.g. EDF energy, Morrison utilities etc. to ensure that resources are coordinated and managed effectively to avoid or reduce impact on London road networks.

·     Prepared and logged completed maintenance jobs reports/technical reports.

·     Provided technical support in terms of interpreting designs, coordinating and supervision of maintenance and improvement schemes on London central road networks.

·     Work Individually as well as part of a team to plan and issue immediate emergency permits and notices within required time deadlines.

·     Present Service/Key Performance Indicators (SPI/KPI) reports at weekly review meetings illustrating level of service, milestones, deadlines, earned value etc; highlighting areas of risk and opportunities.

·    Provide all project data and information in a timely and detailed manner to ensure effective use of resources.

·    Notify the Construction Management teams and supervisors of any circumstances arising on the networkwhich may affect traffic movements, including any issues/conflicts arising from emergencies or clash of works with other infrastructure service providers.

·     Ensure that business plan objectives and set out goals are met adequately.

·     As part of the winter maintenance operation team, I helped with the planning and deployment of gangs and gritters to ensure that London roads were kept operational during the heavy snowfall period in Dec. 2010.
