July 2012 to Date: Lead Projects Planner/Programmer Aspin International Ltd.
Project: Exxon Mobil GREF facility and infrastructures projects; current responsibilities included developing EMCAPS construction programmes and related documents for EM projects within the Lagos Master plan infrastructural schemes, namely Mobil Court Refurbishment, Creek Site and Land Assembly, and also infrastructure development schemes in Luano City, DRC for Forum Properties Africa. These also involve evaluation and preparations of engineering and technical documentations and development of infrastructures plans and schedules; in addition to contributing to the overall project management team requirements for projects delivery strategy. I am also responsible for preparation of EOT claim schedules for our clients on number of projects.
Dec 2011 – June 2012: Lead Planner/Programmer KBR – Overseas (Ethiopia)
BHP Billiton Mineral Exploration in the Danakil region of Ethiopia. My roles and responsibilities included working closely with the Program Managers, Geosciences and the project Operations team which comprises the drilling contractors, the support services contractors which included the logistics, facility maintenance, construction and the HSEC ) to produce the drilling plan, programme, (using MSP) and schedule the drilling plan based on different drilling techniques adopted by the contractors. I monitor and produce daily and weekly status updates plus weekly report for the project stakeholders who include the client’s senior Managers and the KBR support services management team
MAY 2010 – SEPT 2011: Mott MacDonald Nigeria Limited
Senior Planner on the TOTAL Obagi OML 58 Detailed Design Engineering Project, a part of multi-million USD Oil and Gas facility upgrade and development in Nigeria. The contract is specifically to provide Oil and Gas, civil Infrastructure, Accommodation and Security facilities for the Total E&P personnel and Support staff. My role and responsibilities included preparation and Finalization of the Project delivery programme, which entailed, Scheduling, Progress Monitoring and Reporting, Assist the Commercial team with the contract administration, presentations for EOT claims based on CPM principles. In addition, I developed an excel spreadsheet systems for recording progress updates; the spreadsheet is used by the project team for monthly invoice submissions for design deliverables reviewed and approved by Client in accordance with the engineering design contract progress measurement and evaluation principles, namely the approval of documents at IFR , IFA and IFC stages.
I liaise with the project teams at all levels, including at senior management level. As a key member of project delivery team, I attend the weekly and monthly meetings and play a key role making the project teams understand the key project issues and constraints and proffering solutions that benefit the delivery programme. I utilize both the Primavera P3 and P6 project management software for programming the works, assignment of resources to the task activities and also for baseline of resource performance.
JANUARY 2009 – Oct 2009 : (CLM); Mace Group Limited
Senior Integration planner, on the £7.5 billion projects for the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympics Games. The Projects consist of Enabling works, PLUG, Utility, Logistics, Structures, Bridges & Highways (SBH), Venues (Including the Olympic Stadium). My responsibilities includes ensuring that all inter-project interface links/relationships logics and key delivery milestones dates are accurately represented within the level 2 forecast Schedule, by using the primavera P6 scheduling software and produce weekly status reports for the integration managers and the project team . I liaise closely with the Integration Managers, Project planners, and the Project Managers and ensured that other enabling programme management tools such as the Handover Definition and Agreement (HDA) database system are utilized effectively for the project delivery. The HDA encompasses land space/area agreement between incumbent and receiving projects and provides for milestones in the forecast programmewhich are important for managing projects interfaces and access requirements in project of this scale and complexities. I collated, maintained and analyses the details in both the HDA and the Forecast programme on weekly basis and validated the information contained in both systems. I also produced and issued status reports to the project team for internal and external communications.
JANUARY 2008 – December 2008: WESTFIELD-UK (Design + Construction)
Retail Planning Engineer – headhunted, to by Design + Construction division to assist in the delivery of the high profile in town shopping centre development in West London, with overall base-build cost of £1.7 billion. I was responsible for developing the project’s high level delivery constraint programme into working schedules by liaising closely with the specialist trade contractors. I was able to capture the key critical dates and integrated the same into the schedules, monitor and reported on the progress to the project team. I was responsible for the focused sections of the project, namely The Village, for the high end retailers/tenancies such as House of Fraser, Louis Vuitton, Prada, De Beer and others, on high spec. and tight programme. Café Court. - The restaurant’s section, occupying the area of the central atrium with the glass roof. I was also responsible for the Public amenity areas comprising the Public & Staff amenities, the arrival lounges and the interfacing works with other sectional works. I also assisted the production team in closing out and handover to the commercial and leasing division of the business.
AUGUST 2007- Jan 2008 : SKANSKABUILDING(U.K)
Project planner on a £50millions Office and Retail space project, which is a combined refurbishment and new build. For the short time I have been on the project, I have developed detailed working programmes and spreadsheets for monitoring works progress. I am recognized key member the project team and I facilitate co-ordination meetings with trade contractors to reduce crowding and congestion of work site to enable timely handover between trade contractors. I report directly to the project director and the site project management team. I used Asta Power Project software to produce programmes and scheduling report for the management team. I liaise with the commercial and the design teams for in procurement and placing orders with trade contractors. The Construction works involves demolition of Mezzanine and existent 13th floor level and construction of new additional 5 levels of steel frame structure on top, plus reconfiguration of basement and ground floor levels with major builders works to provide additional floor space for the client. The Mechanical & Electrical procurements and installation works are programme driven, I am involve in updating programme and reporting progress status, liaising with the M & E project managers and sub-contractors. The project is now entering the fit out phase and the glaze cladding work has also commenced. I am managing the co-ordination of access and handover of areas together with the project team.
MAY 2006 – AUGUST 2007 : BOVIS LEND LEASE (U.K)
My position, I was a Senior Project Planner on the 125 Old Broad Street, London EC2, the redevelopment of the former London Stock Exchange building. Before then I worked for the Pharmaceutical division of the company as Project Planner on two parallel Clean Room projects, the first a £ 7M, modification of existing laboratory and the second a, £60M new build for the client, GlaxoSmithKline at their Ware Campus.
BetweenDecember 2006 and May 2007, I was the Project planner with the Technology division. I was responsible for Planning and Programming the works on two separate Projects on the GSK Ware campus. I developed the first of the Projects’ Tender programme (of level 1 status) into a construction programme for the construction team and the Enabling work programme, for the second project, a new R&D laboratory. I liaised with the Design, Commercial & Procurement teams to schedule the milestone dates for Design deliverables, procurements of both Subcontractors and Facility/Specialist equipments in line with the Construction schedule.
The 125 Old Broad Street, is a £120M plus Design & Build contract, which has its major elements in;(a) Structural modification package, (b) Mechanical and Electrical packages, (c) Fit-out and (d) Commissioning . I work closely with the package and construction managers to produce working/ Mid & Short term programmes for each critical section of the works within the project delivery programme. I use the Asta Power Project version 8.00, to schedule the work, monitor and report on progress to the team on a weekly basis.
The Structural alterationwhich consists of demolition of precast concrete cladding panels, re-configuration floor areas, two additional floor levels, from basement level –3 to 26 to 28 and additional six storey steel frame office/podium building to the side of the tower linked by bridge on each level. The existing floor spaces are extended by 2m wide extension slab along the perimeter with inserts for receiving new Glass cladding panels & dense stonework cladding at the lower level, 1 to ground level and builders works for the M&E Risers.
The M&E packagescomprises all the installation of all the major M&E plants, Lifts, Cooling towers, Generator, Air Handling Units, Transformers, Switchgears, Water Pumps and Gas Boilers, The Public Health Drain and provisions for Utility, EDF Energy and Thames Water & Telecom & Gas apparatus. The 1st fix Mechanical works , the chill water mains supply and return pipeworks, sprinklers, fan coil units, ductworks (including fire-dampers), LTHW, B/CHW pipeworks within the toilets core, kitchen and shower rooms. The 1st fix Electrical services, comprising, Cable trays (including Hv cable ladders), trunking, busbars, lighting control modules, small power and fire alarm cabling.
The fit outand decoration part of the project which consists the replacing the existing handrails& balustrades, skimming of walls, dry lining, raise floor & screed finishes, suspended ceiling, joinery and installation of fixed furniture and the toilets & shower sanitary wares and 2nd fix M & E, requires careful, logical planning and co-ordination of all the trades to avoid standing time for mobilsed subcontractors. Through co-ordination meeting, I produce ‘Med & Shorterm’ programmes & also spreadsheet matrix for monitoring and reporting progress in these meeting with our subcontractors.
The Commissioningpackage programme is conformity with the construction key milestones dates in our delivery programme. I liaise with our specialist commissioning management contractor to ensure convergency of the construction and the commissioning programmes.
I assist other members of the project team by reviewing and comments on draft documents, preparations of project specific procedures and ensuring that the project is delivered in accordance with the contract requirements.
AUGUST 2005 – OCTOBER 2005 : COSTAIN
My position, I was the Project Planner working on a £20million + design and build project in Reading, the John Madejski Academy. My responsibilities in this position have included producing package programmes for procurement of subcontractors, and producing a detailed working programme based on known design specifications and outputs from subcontractors. I have also produced and updated the enabling work programme for the scheme, which entails relocation of existing teaching and learning facilities and the demolition of an existing building. All key dates and milestones were successfully met. I have also had lots of experience of liaising with both colleagues internally and sub-contractors externally.
Whilst with Costain, I have attended courses on Resource and Cost Management with Asta PowerProject 8 and Creating and Managing Projects with Asta PowerProject 8.
SEPT. 2004 – June 2005 : DAMWOOD CONSTRUCTION LTD
My position as Site Agent on new building development involves Planning, Supervising works, and liaising with the Client, the Architects, the Engineers, the National Housing Building Inspectorate, District Council, the Police, and the local businesses in immediate area. My duties also involve procurement of subcontractors, Resources for the works, Engineering control of the works and ensuring that safe system of work was in place. I also prepare report daily for the Director and attend monthly works valuation meetings with the Client.
JUNE 2001 – 2004 : NORWEST HOLST CONSTRUCTION LTD
My experience and responsibility as Project Planning Engineer; this includeda multi-million pounds New Engineering Contract, options B and C for Infrastructure development in Northwest London for Guinness (GUDV), and the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, CTRL Contract 342. I also assisted the commercial teams with presentation to GUDV and RLE, Clients’ project management teams. I evaluated and analysed programme effects due to change work information and reported to the project management teams’ the potential time risk due to changes to work information and scope changes by using the Critical Path Method of delay analysis.
The contract for Guinness in West London included re-alignment of existing local road, off and on slips roads on A40, two bridges over London Underground Limited and Rail track assets, removal of footbridge over A40 and landscape and water features.
The CTRL Contract 342, included the contraction of over 15km of railway infrastructure, widening section of the A2 (T) between Bean and Pepperhill, re-alignment of side roads, and diversion and installation of utility services
I utilise the PrimaveraSureTrak, and P3 Project Management computer soft wares and Change Note systems to enhance the assessment of each change work information and changes to scope of work to validate their programme effects and devised the Programme recovery strategy with the project team. I also used Earned Value Management analysis in my presentation and submissions to the senior project Managers.
I monitored progress of work, updated the schedule and reported the status of the construction programme to the project teams including the PQS on weekly and monthly basis. And also liaise with other members of the site teams, including Subcontractors, collated data from site records and produced an As-Built, entitlement programmes for sections of the project.
AUGUST 1999 – JUNE 2001: AMEC Capital Projects Limited.
Section Engineer:Pavement Team (AMEC / BAA Joint venture) Western Developments at Stansted Airport.
My responsibilities within the framework contracts included site management, engineering control of bulk earthworks, pavement quality concrete works, including hand and machine laid pavements. Sheeted and open cut excavations for services installation (including high voltage, fuel and water mains) and reinforced concrete structures.
I prepared method statements, risk assessments and as built records in compliance with framework quality assurance system. I also liaised with the airport authorities to allow access/work in sensitive areas adjacent to runway, live taxiways and stands. I worked closely with subcontractors within the framework supply chain to ensure timely deliveries of materials and completion of programmed works.
JUNE 1995 – AUGUST 1999 : Hochtief (U.K) Construction Limited
April 1999 – August: Site Engineer on Hochtief / Norwest Holst joint venture for channel tunnel rail link.
I was responsible for collating site information for temporary works for the project team based in Euston, London. When the project team arrived on site, I was responsible for setting out and engineering control of temporary works and supervising fencing and site clearance subcontractors. I also kept records works in accordance with the project quality assurance system.
June 1995 – April 1999: Site Engineer on Hochtief / Kier joint project for (A299) Thanet Way by – pass.
I was responsible for setting out, engineering control and keeping records of works at various stages of the project. I was responsible for setting out boundary fences, site clearance, and first and second stages earth and drainage works.
I worked closely with the senior Site Agent, prepared weekly programme of works and liaised with Resident Engineer’s representatives and ensuring effective planning at different trade interface.
Between June and August 1998 I was seconded from the Thanet Way project to Kier/ Hochtief joint venture project for hydro –turbine power station at Seabank. I was responsible completing the snagging list, producing a fully resourced programme of work for the specialist subcontractor. I supervised the subcontract works and was on constant liaison with the client representative to ensure that safe system of work was in place during outages and around other trades. I reported directly to the project manager and other senior members of the JV project team.
Sept.1996 – Dec.1996 : Hochtief (U.K) Construction Limited
Site Engineer: Tottenham Court Road’s Strengthening and Resurfacing scheme. I was responsible setting out and engineering control and supervision of site operatives for the £100,000 first phase of the scheme. I worked closely with the site Agent and liaised with the local council on traffic management and including pedestrian control.
Dec.1993 – June 1995 : Process Server
I worked for firms of Solicitors, serving court documents particularly emergency court orders sometimes involving international law. Also prepared Affidavits of Service and issued to the Court. I completed an N.V.Q. Level III in supervisory management.
June.1992 – Sept.1993 : Wimpey (U.K) Civil Engineering Limited
A Graduate Site Engineer: On the Mere – Wincanton (A303) by – pass. I was involved with project from the start until it was near complete. I was responsible for accurate setting out for various items of work including site boundary fences, drainage structures and road construction to Highway Agency and Contract specifications and details. I was responsible for keeping records of works, including as built records for quality assurance. I reported to the Section Engineer and Agent.
Wimpey major projects, Seconded; I worked on the Thorp project at Sellafield as a graduate site engineer, with responsibility for the finishes, particularly concrete walls and the piping networks and general duties directed by the project manager.
Feb.1990 –June.1992 : Wimpey Geotech Limited
Graduate Quality Control Engineer, responsible for assessing and monitoring the quality of grout pumped into the annulus of jackets of offshore platforms in the North Sea, which included Philips Audrey, Hewett 52/5A and Kittiwake, the Shell’s Exploration and production platforms. I worked closely with the company’s logistic support onshore team to meet the requirements of each contract.
I was also involved in preparing Quality Assurance manuals and designs for elements of work for specific contracts. I completed a 5days, Robert Gordon Institute of Technology, Aberdeen, Offshore oil and gas Industry approved emergency survival course.
Oct.1989 – Feb. 1990 : Wimpey (U.K) Civil Engineering Limited
Graduate Site Engineer, responsible for setting out drainage, side roads and earthworks for the main drag section on the M20, in Kent. I also supervised Construction works and kept records of works in accordance with the Project Quality Plan. I reported the Section Engineer and Agent.

Student Site Engineer, On the Ordnance Road underpass project. My duties and responsibilities were setting out and material testing. I set out lines and levels for reinforced concrete retaining walls, bored piles, drainage, carried out slump tests from ready mix concrete deliveries, prepared test cubes, carried out compressive strength testing of cube samples and presented tests results to the Resident Engineer. I reported to the Senior Engineer and Agent.
April – Sept. 1987 : Transport and Road Research Laboratory (TRRL)
Research Assistant to the Bridges Department, the research projects I was involved in included tests on proprietary Grouts system and vulcanised rubber bearings.
I used prescribed method to check the fluidity of grouts mixed under controlled, but varying environment and the characteristic of vulcanised bearings, using Linear Voltage Deferential technique. I recorded the tests results and prepared reports for the Department team
