Allow (1 man - 1m3 / day ) for excavate including transporting the materials to another place such as conveyor belt and to skip. Also allow for overdig - a 1m3 pit will be about 2m3 without support. The stiifer the soil the harder the dig but less overdig. This is from my own experience as a labourer on construction sites.
