Job description
International Exploration and Production Company is looking to hire a Planner/Scheduler for our St. Petersburg office.
The Planner/Scheduler functions include advanced planning, scheduling, progress measurement and analysis to ensure projects are delivered on schedule; as well as a thorough understanding of policies, methods, and procedures that includes advanced Planning and Scheduling techniques, Risk Analysis, and support of project objectives; besides providing expertise and best practice implementation in the work place for the regional offices with regard to the planning and scheduling discipline.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Work in multi-project environment following and complying with company, projects and Production and Technology Department policy and procedures.
· Active member of internal project to implement Project Planning & Scheduling policies, procedures and rules, reflecting both Company and subsidiary roles, responsibilities and expectations.
· Actively manages and maintains the project plan for multiple, simultaneous projects using project management software (MS Project Server).
· Working closely with various disciplines in project teams to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the schedules produced without compromising your independence as a planning engineer so you’re in a position to advise project management on issues requiring judgment.
· Promote and maintain the overall integration and integrity with contractors’ schedules within the project schedules.
· Ensure that schedule related data from contractors of actual projects is provided as feedback into the planning and scheduling systems.
· Collects and analyzes data on project progress, production etc. in an effort to improve the accuracy of future planning.
· Monitors the status of programs/projects as related to project status ensuring that baseline schedule milestones are achieved. Identifies slippages, and reasons and communicates them effectively to Senior Management. Continuously develops scenario analysis and recovery plans in case of slippage to meet the target completion date, using Critical Path Method (CPM) and other techniques.
· Provides high level, consolidated reports on project established metrics, progress report, Monthly Project Report, etc. on a regular basis.
· Candidate will need to balance multiple projects that will likely be executed in multiple locations and by multiple contractors. Candidate must be flexible and able to balance / prioritize multiple priorities.
· Active member of a cross-functional team; resolving issues; establishing and communicating project/program schedules (look-ahead plans, schedule updates, what-if analysis, etc.), objective priorities, and targets.
· Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results in a cooperative and supportive manner.
· Works autonomously with limited supervision.
Preferred Education/Experience
· Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related discipline) from university or equivalent experience.
· 5 years experience in related position(s).
· PMP or PSP Certification is an advantage.
· Broad understanding of industry.
· Experience with oil and gas exploration and production.
· Proficient in current MS Project software (confirmation by relevant certificates is an advantage.)
· Proficient in Excel.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Possesses the tenacity and drive to inject value and create solutions
· Develops good working relationships with project teams
· Must be able to work under pressure.
· Ability to travel
· Fluent knowledge of Russian and excellent knowladge of English
