upgrading Premavera version 6.0 to 6.8

Hi Guys,

I have an old stand alone P6 version 6.0 and want to upgrade it to a newer version 6.8 can I upgrade it on line? and will my stored data be lost? Has anyone done it without backing up (exporting as XER)?
