Dear Members, Our plan has always been to open The Guild by recruiting Members of Fellow Status initially. This way, we establish Guild quality by a ‘top down’ approach enabling others to see the Standard of the initial senior membership. You have persevered with us in your thousands for which we thank you – certainly this has been a tough road with so many junctions to cross and the occasional abyss to jump over! We can tell you why Accreditation across the scope of Controls on a global basis has not been achieved before... However, this is the start of a revolution in Project Controls we want you all to be part of it but for the immediate future Fellow status applicants are required ONLY. As you would expect we do have a criteria for Fellow status applicants to meet... FELLOW STATUS – WHAT WILL THIS REALLY MEAN? You are and will be recognized as being at the very top of your profession either employed or retired; we care about your knowledge and experience. WE WILL assess your application through the utilization of other Guild Fellows who are keen for you to join them. WE WILL require your input from time to time for decision making whilst establishing and running the Guild of Project Controls. WE ASK if you too are prepared to be an assessor for others perspective members – all levels or Fellow applicants alone? ARE YOU prepared to present topics during Guild or other events worldwide? Becoming involved in assessments and / or presentations is of course purely on a volunteer basis only and does not affect your application, we simply would like your help! Our aim is to ensure that over time Fellows experience all the prestige and respect the title warrants; as The Guild grows Fellow status will be ever more rewarded and acknowledged. CLOSING MESSAGE The Guild of Project Controls became a reality when voted for by the members of Planning Planet – with some 80,000 active members worldwide across all disciplines of Project Controls we expect our Fellow status to be the most prestigious available and offer the most scope for successful applicants. Over the coming weeks The Guild will be rolling out application requests and the criteria required for membership at various levels from Foundation to Competent, Advanced, Expert and of course, Fellow. We will also enable all members to improve their Guild level by the route of examination and/or assessment – Role Descriptors and Standards of Practice will be on the website to help and guide members who wish to improve in their roles or demonstrate their knowledge to others.
