Level of effort

Hi All. Can anyone please help? I am trying to creat a level of effort activity and have linked it as a SS with its predecessor and FF with its successor both with zero lag. When I schedule, the level of effort activity only shows the start date as start and finish date with zero duration. I have tried putting the number of duration and finish date manually but it goes back to showing start date with zero duration and a negative float of 1 as soon as as I schedule. Please help. Cheers!
