Say I have an activity: Task 1 with a 3 day (original) duration. I have a resource against it... Budgeted Units = 3 days... Budgeted Cost = 3 x $500 / day = $1500.
By the time the activity finishes it ended up being a 10 day duration task... therefore you would expect the Actual Cost to have increased to 10 x $500 = $5000.
If you have a plan with 10 activities only, yes, it is easy to manually update the Actual Units every time you do a progress update... thus automatically giving you / displaying the Actual Cost. BUT if you have a 1000 activity plan, assuming the actual units would be = to actual duration, how can you avoid the manual update of the Actual Units? I am interested in getting actual cost vs budgeted cost at the end of the day (for the purpose of this exercise).
I tried creating a Global change but it looks like Primavera is not giving me the choice of Actual Cost, Actual Duration, etc... in the drop down box of the Global change dialogue box.
What am I missing? Is there a setting somewhere that I might have forgotten to select / tick?!
Appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance,
Cristina
