Updating Steps in Progress Reporter

Does anyone know if the facility to update UDF columns in the steps tab works?
I have created some reports using steps, and now want my team to update through Progress Reporter, but it will not allow the UDF column to be editable and therefore i have to go and duplicate updates in P3e.

Can anyone help please?
