Can anyone suggest any good resources for productivity rates on design activities? Specifically O&G sector?
Im trying to build up what I can based on previous projects, but my firm doesnt have an activity-based timesheet system so I have no way of tracking actuals. Estimates on previous projects often arent broken down beyond the discipline and when they are, they vary wildly (eg a bar bending schedule should take anywhere from 3 to 20 manhours, depending on who did the estimate...)
Normally Id go to the designers themselves but as I say, their previous estimates have not been consistent. Also they are mainly contractors in a design office without much work on, and in the current climate I am wary of the self-preservation instinct leading to over-inflated estimates.
