I just had an occasion to help someone to fix one of their P3 system files (the two files are PRMZFIL.P3 and USERFIL.P3). Investigating on the Primavera site reviled that you can use the P3 utility, PFXW.EXE to do this if you start the program with a ‘switch.’
The easiest way to explain this is to create an icon pointing to the program and then add “ /S” after the target name. Create the icon pointing to the program, then right-click on the icon and select “Properties.” Then add a space and then “/S” after the name in the Target box. The Target line should read,
C:\P3WIN\P3PROGS\PFXW.EXE /S
Then just close-up the Properties box and double-click on it. You can now either select either PRMZFIL or USERFIL, then select “Rebuild system file.” Don’t select “Compact project files” as that feature does not work correctly when running the Fix Files program in this manner. I was pleased to learn something new about ‘the old workhorse’ and thought that I ought to share this with others.
