The Conditions of Contract is FDICI 4TH EDITION (Red book)

The Employer wants to additional works carried out by the nominated subcontractor.
Can the Engineer instruct a variation and that varied Work to carry by the Nominated subcontractor?
Pls.,if you can tell, how it interacts with Clauses 51, 52 & 59.
