holidays on the bar chart

Please explain complete step by step procedure for necking and through log too. I do not understand that how should be displayed professionaly . i do not want to show holiday particularly with a bar rather I want to display generaly for all activities falling in that date for instance there will be Govt holidays on Jul 2, Aug 06, Sep 03 and Nov 12.
Please let me know how to show these holidays in the schedule in a professional way.
