Migrating from P3 to P5

I have imported a project from P3.1 into P5 and all looked well until I tried to issue roles against my resorces.
P5 has issued a resource type of material against me (Labour) resources and it won’t let me change them because they have already been assigned to an activity.
Anybody else had this problem and how can I change the resource type back to labour?
