User Defined Bars in P3

Hi folks,
Can somebody out there advise me on how to define and apply user-defined bars in P3.
I know Paul Harris posted something on this sometime back, but I cannot find it.
I have defined one and attempted to apply it but it did not work.
Please, this is urgent.
