Provides complex advisory services on project planning

networks by:

·         Assisting with the development project network plans

for execution in conjunction with managers.

·         Incorporating the project plan for developing

project network plans from feasibility studies

and business cases.

·         Provides planning and scheduling function to Medupi Managers.

·         Provide functional support to the Planning Manager.

·         Collect and collate data to provide management with a clear understanding of the project progress, areas of risk and required response strategies.

Supervises the training of Planner and Schedulers by:

·         Identify training and development needs in

consultation with Project Control Manager.

·         Trains and develop trainee project planners on appropriate planning and scheduling work methodologies.

·         Advising on the development and implementation

of personal development plans.

·         Monitoring the progress on the development and appraisal progress.

Manages the Master Schedule by:

·         Verifying proposed changes for integration

received from various area schedules.

·         Designing the development and maintenance of

project planning data base for project master plan.

·         Updates the master program database in

consultation with all areas schedule planners.

·         Examining regularly the updates to the project

planning data base for project master plan.

·         Drive contractors planning activities to support the main planning process.

·         Ensure integrity of project data in the master schedule.

·         Ensure accurate inputs from contractor information into the master schedule.

·         Support the ongoing development of the project program.

Integrates project area programs into master program

Performs project execution according to the plans by:

·         Assist with develops and understanding together

with the project manager the work scope per

package

·         Assist with the development of the WBS

·         Compiling the planning networks

·         Review contractor’s programs (TM,

Engineering, Transmission, etc.)

Coordinating the updating of reporting plans and progress by:

·         Supporting the project Control Manager and Chief

Planner in monitoring the actual progress on

activities schedule, identified variances, highlighted

potential problem areas and recommend corrective

actions.

·         Coordinates the reviewing of contractors progress

updates at required frequency and the updating

onto the master program.

·         Determines completion dates on the plan in

conjunction with stakeholders.

Identifies deviations from critical path and proposes solutions

to revert to

·         Original program.

·         Identify threats to the critical path and purpose response strategies.

·         Provides reports on achievement of key

milestones

·         Re-plans to provide alternatives to ensure that

project achieves target dates.

Reports any significant changes to the project schedule

Provides planning and scheduling function to Project

Managers

·         Develops the overall Master Project

Plan in conjunction with the respective

stakeholders.

·         Provide key milestone dates to all stakeholders to

develop their detailed plans.

·         Provides the functional management.

Updates and reports on plans and progress

·         Determining / verification actual progress on activities

schedule, identifying variances, highlighting

potential problem areas and recommending

corrective actions.

·         Reviewing progress updates at required frequency

and updating the project Master Program

·         Forecasting activities and completion dates in

conjunction with all stakeholders

·         Identifying and reporting the project critical path

and deviations on the critical path.

·         Providing reports and possible solutions on

activities affecting or likely to affective critical

path.

·         Providing reports on achievement of key

milestones

·         Re-planning activities to provide alternatives to

ensure that project deliverables are met (to meet

project targets)

·         Reporting on any significant changes to the

Master schedule.

·         Developing resource schedules

·         Analyzing manpower projections and

recommending actions to optimize manpower

·         Input to the monthly progress report

·         Determining resources to utilized and reconciling

with actual resources utilized

·         Ensuring correct codes are applied to activities

·         Assisting the establishment of budget estimates

per project

Developing s-curves / values reflecting progress

Provides a planning and scheduling function during the early

stages in the project life cycle model. Allocates planner(s) and

assist them with the development and monitoring of plans and

schedules.

·         To Project Development Department, during the prefeasibilityand feasibility stages of project.

·         To commercial department, during the enquiry

and tender issue and adjudication phases ofprojects.
