MILLER BUCKLEY CIVIL ENGINEERING LTD

1974 - 1980  Completed Civil Engineering degree studies whilst working for Miller Buckley, progressed from Trainee to Engineer.  Responsibilities involved planning and estimating for civil and construction projects, records and monthly measurement details, liaison with the client in solving on-site problems, supervision of sub-contract labour and production of on-site drawings and temporary works designs.

 

JALAHIMA & ALAMOUDI (JATCO) SAUDI ARABIA

May 1980 - June1981  Land Survey Party Chief.  In charge of a four-man survey team operating in remote areas of the eastern province with a minimum of supervision.  Working on roads and Oil Production facilities. Use of traditional and modern survey techniques including computer data capture and plotting of survey information.

 

JOHN MOWLEM LTD

October 1981- June 1985  Section Engineer working on mechanical drive tunnels, r.c. structures and associated control buildings for power stations and water facilities.  Also responsible for safety, temporary works designs, preparation of programmes, and tendering for additional work on the site. 

 

Agent on a steel frame structure responsible for labour, plant and engineers involved with the construction and progress of the project.  The project was behind schedule and over budget when I joined the site and I helped bring it back on target.  On completion of the project working in the estimating department assisting in the production of tenders for contracts in the North East of England.
