Jacobs Engineering, Seconded to Network Rail FTN Programme (Planner attached for Engineering Transmission Design team)                                                                                                                                       

The FTN Programme is a seven year project to create a privately owned telecommunications network for Network Rail’s operational and business needs. It involves the rollout of 16,000 Kms of optic fibre and copper cable, and the construction of 2500 mobile phone transmission masts across England, Scotland, and Wales. The value of the programme is £1500M.

 

  • Working as team planner using P3 planning software and MS Excel.
  • Maintaining and tracking the design portions of the master project programme, and synchronizing with the detailed programme for the Transmission Design team.
  • Creating, maintaining, and tracking a detailed programme for the Transmission Design team. Creating individual resource programmes and forecasting productivity output. Resource levelling.
  • Assisting the Team Leader with high level reporting.
  • Liaising with other planners working in different areas and teams on the project to integrate and co-ordinate efforts.
