Øystein Wikeby has over 25 years’ experience as a consultant to the Maritime, Offshore Wind, and Oil & Gas industries. He combines a deep analytic ability with extensive practical experience and a highly international background. He takes a particular interest in new technology and its applications in the industry.

Øystein is recognized as a thought leader in the fields of Docking Management, Lay-up, and Condition Assessment of ships. 

He developed DNV’s and DNV GL’s docking management courses, and is teaching the courses worldwide. He is currently also Course Director for Lloyd’s Maritime Academy’s Docking Management course.

Øystein authored DNV’s Guidelines “Lay-up of vessels”, April 2009 and “Condition Assessment Program”, July 2005. He developed the methodology for DNV’s Condition Assessment Program for ships.

Øystein also has extensive experience as Marine Warranty Surveyor and Owner’s Representative in the Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind industries.
