WORK EXPERIENCE

Overview:  I am a mechanical engineer with experience totaling 25 years in construction industry. For the past 13 years I have been involved with oil and gas sector construction projects in the capacity of Planning Engineer in Kuwait. Most of these projects were of EPC nature, executed for state owned clientele as Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). The project packages were multi-disciplined comprising of piping and pipelines, equipment erection and mechanical works, civil and structural, electrical and instrumentation works. These required the planning and control of activities of project phases as engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. The prime responsibilities were to devise, implement and monitor project schedules and resource plans to ensure the smooth and timely execution and completion of the projects. Softwares as Primavera and MS project along with other software tools supportive of planning, analysis and review were used.

Also, I have done a 5 year term with Fluor Kuwait Company (formerly Fluor International Ltd.) as Planning Engineer on their PMC assignment with Major Projects Group of Kuwait Oil Company. This called for project management efforts involving multifaceted teamwork to ensure targets achievement, contract compliance and quality standards of various projects on behalf of the client.

Achievements, Duties & Responsibilities - A Synopsis: Though the duties and responsibilities of the planning engineer are somewhat typical, variations will be there depending on the project, each project being unique on its own. I have exposure to both the sides, that is, with the contractor in executing the projects and on the side of the consultant in managing the projects for the client. Equipped with a good understanding of planning methodologies and techniques, I was able to successfully fit in to both the roles.
