May, 2005 - Responsible for applying for Possessions, Protections & Isolations requests through PPS & RIMINI, to gain access to the Rail Infrastructure for the undertaking of engineering works within Network Rails possession planning timescales.
- Provides important support to the Portfolio / Project Teams, enabling the efficient delivery of programme.
- Represent the interests of functional Investment Programme /Project Teams in respect of track access and logistics at Area Planning meetings and co-ordination forums from strategic Annual Integrated Work Plans development completion through to delivery.
- Support the AIWP development process from the conclusion of national track access negotiations to plan handover in respect of all work activities.
- Develop and implement a set of performance metrics (KPI’s) to enable feedback to be provided to functional investment programme teams on the operational performance of their work activity delivery plans and make recommendations for improvements.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers & Project Engineers to identify all available possessions to optimise work and to maintain the project programme.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time and ensure the data is sufficient for the purpose by checking against standard specifications, and raise queries with relevant members of the Delivery Planning Teams where necessary.
- Receive Region replies to Possessions, Protections & Isolations requests and notify Delivery Planning Teams, pointing out where further information or modification is required.
- Provide information to Delivery Planning Teams on status of possession requests.
- Attend all Possession Planning Meetings with Network Rail and clients.
- On publication of the Confirmed Period Possession Plan, Weekly Operating Notices and associated documents, check that the details comply with the work requirements for the possession.
- Grounding in all types of planning techniques and have a good understanding of the Network Rail Rule Book, Sectional Appendix, Hazard Directory and Signalling/Track Diagrams.
