Planning is the prioritising and setting up of tasks such that the task’s size, duration, priority and who is responsible for the task is evaluated. Therefore everyone, be it intentionally or unintentionally, lays plans, at home and at their place of work.

We Plan,

• To get an overview of what tasks there are
• To prioritise the tasks
• To see what the tasks require
• To see the consequences of our prioritising and choice of resources

A plan is laid, as mentioned, intentionally or unintentionally, as soon as there is more than one task that needs to be solved. There are different ways to execute a plan – even those intentional plans. However, whether you use a Planning tool or just have the various activities in your head, you are continually evaluating the task’s duration and situation.

Planning is in other words a visualisation of the choices made and their consequences.

My vision for a PP Consul is:

1. To setup a support centre for Planners (professionals and amateurs)
2. To setup a database for Planners and for companies that use Planners
3. To establish local expertise groups
4. Arrange/ help arrange Project Planning Workshops
5. Be the contact between problem and solution.

Daniel Højer is Senior Planner and Proprietor of DAH Planning & Analysis ApS. He has more than 10 years experience primarily with big projects within the Construction, Engineering, Development, Pharma and Oil & Gas industries.
