Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I just posted a new blog article: “Managing the Program and the Project: What’s Similar, What’s Different?” It’s a followup to the article I posted last week, “Project Investments Are Whole-System Efforts and All Levels Must Play Their Parts.” How are projects and programs similar? How are they different? How must they fit together and what are the responsibilities of the manager of each to the other?

A program requires each project to play its role in optimizing benefits and value of the investment. The program manager who does not understand how to make all the different projects fit together is like an orchestra conductor who can’t meld brass and strings, and the dissonance will erode ROI.
