Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear PP Members,

In planning and scheduling practice, I would like to ask who is making the decision or estimation for expected finish dates?

Can a planning engineer decide or construction manager ?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

An activity is estimated to start and finish based on logical sequences in the schedule in which the planner calculates the duration based on his Planning experience.

While the Construction Manager is experienced on the execution of works he knows how long (duration) it will take for an activity to be completed but can't predict the start or finish dates specially for thousands of activities in a schedule.
