Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello all,

any help would be greatly appreciated,

I have an activity on a 12 hour calendar, the Budgetted Labor Units on the activity is 1433 hours, with a Duration (days) of 30, the remaining Labor Units (on the Status Tab) reads 1433 as the activity is at 0%.

My question is this,,, why on the Resources Tab does the Remaining Units read 1745 and NOT 1433??

many thanks

thank you for your note Martin,

i would love to take the credit for this however, one of more experienced guys in our team has discovered that,  the Calculations tab (on the Projects view in Enterprise) has the option to have 'Link Budget and At Completion for not started activities',, IF this isnt checked then the issues explained above seem to surface,, see what you think

cheers

Jon

I've experienced the same issue, never really got to the bottom of it, but here is something we found out:

If the project was imported from MSP the values on the status tab can be incompatible with the resources tab, the values on the status tab seem to come from the work field in MSP. In the extreme in MSP you can no resources but have a value in the work field. You can also do this in P6 - delete the resource and you can still type in a value on the status tab!

The only way we found to put things correct is to delete the resource, zero out the values on the statuts tab then assign the resource again.
