Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Date,Gap,Completion ...and so on.....

Gents,

Just wanna to ask you all guys, recently I received one schedule in .xer & .plf format but once I import it to my P6 the completion date have a gap around three days if compared with the original one. I’ve been checked on “Dates Tab – Planned & Data dates” all of them are totally identical but still have a gap. How come this happen is it because the version of p6? I’m currently use 6.2 and my main cont. using 6.0.

Izam,

It seems to me you have problem with your calender. when you import from XER file. The default configuration for import options have keep existing calendars. This mean if you have same name for the calender in your existing database then it will not update the calender. What you need to do is match the holidays for both calenders or while importing you can change this option in configuration but be aware for the later option, it will happen to all those projects which have assigned that calender assigned.

Hope this will help

Dear Izam ,

During importing theres an option to schedule the project after import; it should be unchecked.

Alex!
