Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear Planners,

I have to add verious resouces to around 1000 activities. It was possible in P3 to assign resouces applying the feature of Global Change within seconds. But assigning resouces to activities one by one is too labourious. Is there any option in P6 to add resouces applying Global change?

If anybody has the idea, please list down the steps for the same using P6.

Aman

No one answer your question may not because of too difficult but instead the other way around.

What Arnold provide is ideal way if you try to assign the same resource accross a filter list of activities.

Put it this way, assign multiple resource against multiple activity is a lot easier in P5 compare to P3

Hi Aman,

Resource allocation using global change, this feature is not supported in P6.

You can use Assign Resources. Try the following steps:

1. Select & Filter all the activities you wanted to assign the Resources.
2. Select the "Assign Resources" icon located at the right corner of your screen.
3. Select the resources to be assigned & tick assign.

Hope this help.

Obviously a difficult one as no-one has replied.

I can get global change to add a resource to all activities - but in doing this it doesn’t want to just add the new one - it want’s to replace the existing ones!!

What good is that? Does anyone know how to do it?
