Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Update baseline in P6

I am unable to update baseline in P6, i am getting the following message:

"An application event has been intercepted. Please note the event code for refrence.
Event code 721AB23A"

with the following options "OK/Exit/More".

Has any one ever encountered similar problems. Can someone guide me how to update baseline in P6.

P6 is now at version 6.1. You can download the update from POINT or request a new set of CD’s provided your maintenence fees are up to date.

After clicking more i do not get any detail.

When i open the log file i get the following message
"XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource ’file://C:/Documents and Settings/ user/ My Documents/..."

Can some one help me.

go to ’more’ on the dialog, therethe details of the file causing the problem shall be shown

It is not a new baseline, but an update to of original.

Due to changes in the middle of the project i need to add a few more activities.

David,

I am using MSQL database. Has Primavera released service pack for P6. Can someone provide me link for P6 service pack.

If you are running on Oracle you need to check that it is a supported version. Also check that you have the latest service packs installed.

There are many issues with updating baselines, especialy if you are resource loaded. It simply does not do what it says on the tin.
