Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

We have a central database for our P3e use and want to create a copy for ’scenario testing’.

This is physically easy to do - but does it need seperate licensing ?

Does anyone do this already - can you use the same license file for this.

I get conflicting views from different people I speak to.

Official view from Primavera is that the seperate database needs a seperate license - you can only copy the database for backup purposes

I agree with Said. We’ve just installed P5 and I had IT install the supplied database with tutorial data and an empty database without it.
We have only one licence but two users and could access both databases at the same time.
This would NOT be legitimate licence usage, but I don’t feel it’s a problem using one for development of ideas and one for real planning.

you can use the same licens(if this DB for testing only and in the same company ) but not legal to use the same licens for another company or for another work
