Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

All,

Can anyone give me an explanation of how Calendar workhours/day and Hours per period (admin pref) differ/interact?

Cheers,

Oliver

Calendar workhours/day is used to calculate the end date of the activity according to the duration of the activity.
The start date is calculated through network calculations and the end date is calculated based on the duration.

The Hours per period in admin pref is used to convert the data from one unit to another when you change the units in PM.
ie. if say your are working in hrs unit and then you change the units to days while woeking on your project, Primavera makes the calculations based on the units given in hours per period.
