Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

What are the thoughts on Role-based vs. Name-based Login Names? Thinking is that it would be easier to set up user login names by role(ie. SREST, EST1, EST2, LDPLAN, SRSCHED, PROJMGR, etc.) rather than name so that if people come and go on a project the number of profiles could be kept to a more manageable size

You can use them as Project or Global profiles, then assign each user on the system as one of those profiles. The benefit of having Individual users ratehr than generis profiles (as their login names) is that individual users can have project exceptions to the generic profile access.
