Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

i am trying to print a gantt chart to a pdf file

i am doing a file, print setup, changing driver to pdf, selecting 11x17 format

for some reason it is just printing the item descriptions and column info but not any of the time scale info to the right of the columns

does anyone know how to have the timescale also included in the pdf print file ?

Perhaps a silly question.  Does the Activity Layout you have set on your Activities screen have the Gantt chart open?  If not, turn the Gantt on.

On File -> Print Preview -> Page Setup -> Options tab  check that you have the Gantt Chart box checked.  This is also where you set the timescale as the other folks have mentioned.  You may want to remove the "all columns" check - just play with it.

If you can't see it in the print preview screen, then it won't end up in the pdf.

Bullzip is another nice pdf printing app that I use and recommend.

Let us know here if you got it working, with the solution for others.

if you see the preview fine then this could also be related to the program you use to get pdfs.

"Foxit pdf creator", "pdfcreator" and "qpdf" are some of the programs I use to get pdfs. they usually work better than the adobe print driver.

hope this helps.

Hi mike menlow

Check the page setup option ,in that change the time scale setting option to fit your program for example in start date field DD-2M and in the finish date field FD+2M

Footnote

M-stands for months

FD-Finish Date

DD-Date Date

Mike,

Go to file, page setup and check that the "bars" option is ticked

If this doesn't do the trick, I'm out of ideas. -Is it only happening when printing to pdf? Does the print preview look OK?
