Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi PPers

I maintain a master schedule for the company I work for which includes all current projects as well as bids and prospective projects.

I run it as a project group with the projects added as sub-projects as they come up.

I use project codes to cary all the project level information such as status, sector, industry, project manager etc but maintaining this is quite labourious as I need to set the codes by going to project overview for each project individually.

does anyone know an easier way of maintaining project codes for sub projects?

cheers,
Brennan

Hi Rodel,

Please try to maabc@yahoo.com

I think that the maabcosta@gmail.com is working, maybe a anti-virus check and bounced automatically for you.

Thanks for the attention,
Miguel

i would not consider assigning project codes laborious as it only categorized member project into group such as project manager, status, finance, etc. I’ve worked with a Master Project with 20 subprojects and the grouping layout is fantastic (from project level ro activity levels). It’s the project codes that is laborious which require sometime using of software outside P3 for fast coding and unconventional process.

The thing is before a Planner starts an outline of Master Project and subprojects has to be in placed to have structured coding system flowing from activity up to the project level.

So keep your subprojects to reasonable numbers say 10-20.

I’m happy so far on Project codes has to offer.

cheers,

Paldo

As far as I can see the excel utilities are for activity level data only.

Hi Brennan,

I assumed that you are using P3.1

Try excel utilities of Primavera and it may help.

Rodel
