Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi everyone

PLease explain why some data imported from excel file cannot be read in P6.

What is the reason. How P6 read or store data?

What are the things that should be done to the data in order for us to succesfully import to P6.

THank you for the explaination in advance.

for the most part this is true but some dates can be imported.

But generally speaking it is beacuse they fields are calculated

What is it you want to import

Also you can use SDK and import anything

The best method is to export out a sample of data, continnue populating the list and then import. Note that any field exported with a (*) cannot be imported - usually becuase this is a calculated field - such as dates.
