Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear,

I am a PM of a construction company and I also like to prepare master programme by myself.

However, diiferent opinion is received from various discipline. The master programme should be as details as possible or more generic.

Personally, I prefer as details as possible. 1) if you can prepare a master rprogramme as details as possible, it means you must study the drawings / specification more thoroughly. Otherwise, you couldn't prepare a very detailed programme. 2) If a very detailed programme is prepared. Any minor change in drawings or whatever would most probably affect the master programme to certain extent, then it would create potentail EOT.

While those people prefer more generic saying that if it is more generic, then it is up to the main contractor to interpret what is the activities mean. However, I have reservation on this idea.

I would like to hear others opinion.

Regards,

Gary Lo

You need to consider the concept of schedule levels, see: http://www.mosaicprojects.com.au/PDF/Schedule_Levels.pdf
