Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi to All,

I need help, Im using P6 ver 8.2.  Ive read some of the forums regarding using the calendar, its advantages and disadvatanges on this problem.

Heres the situation, Project operation was suspended for 60 days due to a Tower Crane Collapse.

Questions:

1.  Whats the best way to present it to the client besides using the Calendar and marking those dates NON-WORK, Bar-necking and using a Curtain.

2.  How to create an new activity to present the "TOWER CRANE COLLAPSE" as an activity, splitting those IN-PROGRESS/ON-GOING activities then reconnecting them once the project resumes. Is this the best way to present it?

Thanks guys!

Hi Raul

A calendar is the best way to demonstrate the delay.

Otherwise put in a task bar labelled "Work Stop Due to Crane Collapse"

Link all the precessor tasks FS to it and link all the suuceror tasks FS from it.

Any tasks halfway you have to split the tasks on the start date of the collapse.

Apart from that your first route to compensation will be through your insurance policy.

Best regards
