Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear All,

Could any one specify the Standard Color code for all the bars used in Planning.

Eg. For Critical-Red

Thanks & Regards,

In Spider Project there is also an option when bar color is selected by the software basing on user defined conditions (signals, street lights, ...).
Most simple example: if activity is late its bar is red, if it is ahead of schedule the bar is green, if it is on schedule the bar is blue.
This option can be switched on and off.
Sometimes it is useful.

Hi Anbin

The general rule in respect of code colours applied to task bars is "less is better".

I use only four colours Green for level 4 tasks > Yellow for level 3 summaries > Cyan for level 2 and Dark Blue for level 1.

Avoid using multiple colours and patterns on tasks - it gives visual overload - the programme equivalent of a fireworks display.

Best regards

Anbin,
As far as my knowledge is concerned I haven’t read or encounter any ISO standard for Bar color on a Gantt chart.
By Default, Primavera use Green for outstanding activities, red for critical, blue for actual and yellow for baseline, MS Project use Blue for outstanding, red for critical and black for actual.
I know some company has define Standard Bar color for scheduling to avoid confusion and using same language when reading a schedule but for international or global none.
