Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Yes, you can assign dates to Steps, but they will not ‘roll-up’ to your activity dates. Just add two User-Defined-Fields (UDF) to your Steps tab and make then data type: Date. Title the fields with “Start” and “Finish” or whatever you like. Good luck!

Please ignore last two replies.
hope this one apears all right on the web page.

Percntage.

Is the amount of work done in terms of physical % complete or duration % complete or units % complete.
Whichever you are using in Primavera P5. value for this ranges between 0-100.

Weight Percentage and Weight.

Lets sey you have an activity which will be complete when A, B and C will be completed ( consider A, B and C as steps to that activity)

Now

You have to assign weight to each of this step,, how imp it is or what proportion of work it will cover for an activity

Just for an example.

Activity A
weight % = 40
weight = 2.0

Activity B
weight % = 40
weight = 2.0

Activity C
weight % = 20
weight = 1.0

When you change weight , percent weight should change automatically..

Lets suppose there are only 2 steps, so

Activity A
weight % = 50
weight= 2.0

Activity B
weight% = 50
Weight = 2.0

Hope this helps.

If I am incorrect please correct me.

Thanks
