Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

What is the best way from your expierience to build a resource loaded schedule. Do you need the client to provide information on the resources available, as in: we have 5 engineers for validation, engineer 1 will do system 1-5, engineer 2 will do system 6-10 etc.
Alternatively does the planner perform what ifs to determine the resources required for the work.
Does anyone know where i can get information on how to build a resource loaded schedule using P5.

Thanks for any help you can provide

You need to build up your resource directory with all named resources working on the project, then sit down with your PM, Engineers etc and assign the resources to each activity with level of effort, Unless you already know who within your project is working on each task, once you have done this you can perform resource profiling and see the budget hrs required to do the project against the availability.

hope that helps
