Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

’nold,

Small world! How’s work nowadays?

Typical projects are not typical at all. Project reporting depends on what you want, or what the PMT and those on the top level wants. Procurement and engineering differs as well.

I suggest you read about EVM.

I think it could be better if PP has the capability to handle files downloading, as it makes more sense then to hassle people to send you an email.

That said, can you please send me a copy; djouallah.mimoune@gmail.com

Most Company’s have a series of Standard Operating Procedures (SoP’s) which cover the fundamentals of this work. The individual Project Quality Plan specifies which procedures are applicable on the project and if the SoP needs ammending it becomes a project specific procedure.

If you want to see some examples send me an members email

"Could someone explain and describe briefly the following:

1) Procedure to set up plan for a typical project:

2) Construction project reporting and control procedure for a project:

3) Procedure for the Procurement and Engineering plan for a typical project:"

Could you be a bit more specific on type of project?

1) Not every project fits into the "typical" category, road construction and boiler installation are two different animals.

2) Project reporting and control procedures vary from company to company *oh to have a standard operating procedure*, and from client to client.

3) The procurement and engineering phase can be quite different as well, some projects require materials that may be readily available thereby cutting times and resources required considerably. Some of my projects required a 2 year lead time just on manufacture of certain equipment.
