Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Gud day PP members,

We are looking for a good presentation software in which we can use for our monthly progress presentation & work plan to our client. Few weeks back we had a short training on MS Visio and right now leaning to buy that software. But when we discussed this to our Project Manager he told us there are other softwares which are much better than Visio. Any software you can recommend will help a lot.

Thanks!!!

Rolyn

Sorry for the late answer.
I’ve been though a rather heavy revision of a schedule......

I don’t quite get your approach here Vladimir.
I’ll try to give an answer if you specify a bit more.

When it comes to standard project planning the difference from other systems is not that big.
Thje biggest difference from other systems, that I have used, is the import/export features and the reports.
i.e. you can import/export/copy user fields/activety codes, resources, layouts, reports, etc.

The light version - Safran Planner - have the same interface as Project and can be downloaded for evaluation.

If you don’t find the information you are searching for I
sugfest that you send them a mail. Personaly I have never
met more serviceminded software salesmen/developers.

we use MS power point for presentation.
We insert all necessary information into PPT e.g. cost/progress/EHS...
It’s more flexible than planning & scheduling software.

We use it for monthly & weekly report to client

Also went to the site. How to get more informations about Safran?

I would appreciate to know more about Safran.

Regards.
Svein,
I looked at the site of Safran and did not found enough information to understand software capabilities.
First of all one simple question - if this software can calculate project schedule taking into account resource, supplies and financial limitations?
Best Regards,
Vladimir

Safran - Planning software that also can present the reports.
10-15 years ahead of Primavera.

Rolyn,

If u have few activities, i suggest u to use Primavera Contractor. It supports only 750 activities but is very good to show project progress.

If your project is big, i suggest Primavera 5.0.

Regards.
