Does anyone have production rates for timber framed and glazed doors and windows?

What are the likely procurement and lead-in times for materials supply, planning, workshop drawings and manufacture?

Perhaps there’s also some of you guys who would happen to know about fiber optic installation (production rate)too..
There’s none in the PP Prod. rates.

Thanks in advance...

Appreciate your comments Simon, particularly in relation to import times. The windows are Sirian Cedar (Malaysian). It is a small multi-residential project. Modern windows, large folding doors. Excluding timber procurement, I have allowed (in working days):
Mobilisation / read dwgs / prepare procurement schedules (once only) 5 days
For each group of 10:-
Site measure 2
Shop drawings 2
Approval 5
Set-up 2
Manufacture (incl glass) 14

Maybe I’m a bit light-on in some areas.
Hardware generally has a delivery time of 2 - 4 weeks in Aus.

This could take some time to answer as you may need to consider the timber delivery and kiln drying. What type of window will it be, Victorian or modern? What about the ironmongery and glazing.

I’ve just been through the mill (Joke) with 1500 Victorian style windows and doors of different shapes and sizes. It goes without saying that the choice of manufaturer makes a big differance to.

As a guide you could use
1) 6 weeks for import of timber (Including infestation check at customs.
2) 2 weeks to twice kiln dry
3) 1 day to rough cut
4) 1 days to mark -up
5) 3 days for routing
6) 2 days to construct (Incl Ironmongery
7) 4 days for painting

With regard to Shop drawings, if you are in a themed area that requires coordination with facades or other windows you should allow 2.5 days per drawing.
