Guild of Project Controls: Compendium | Roles | Assessment | Certifications | Membership

Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hello All!

My name is Randa, and I am a project controls engineer(sounds like the intro to an AA meeting, except that I am not an alcoholic. no offense to all out there). I work in an EPC company for Oil & Gas.

My company recently began restructuring our project controls department to refresh and update our responsibilities as project controllers. Our procedures are being revised and updated, and I have been placed in charge to write the "New ’n Improved" Project Controls Procedure. I have many refernce procedures but the only drawback is that they are projecy-specific, and I am looking for something more general and global for Oil & Gas EPC projects. if any of you planners out there have such a document, I would highly appreciate a copy of it for reference in building our procedures. If not, then your mere suggestions / input / guideline on how to build such a procedure will be of excellent help to me and highly appreciated.

I will be writting you guys for your advice as i guild this procedure, and I look forward to your contributions!

Cheers,

Randa

It still can’t work.
Simply go to http://www.apm.org.uk/resources/occstandards.htm
and download the national occupational standards for project controls.
This should work.

Hi Joe,

Refer the "Format my post" section to set up your link properly about the project controls procedure, or else we can’t access the link that you have given.

Cheers!!

Randa,

Your first stop (after here) should be to the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (http://www.aacei.org. They are the specialists in Project Controls. You can find Recommended Practices CDs and books and a lot of members who are very knowledgeable in Project Controls.

Good luck!

Ron Winter.
