Dear Reeja,

The typical activities for a steel fabricated building is:

1. Submit Inspection and Test Plan
All the stages mentioned below are discussed between all parties of the Contract; Client, Engineer, Contractor, Fabricator, Erector, Inspection Agency, and a system of inspection is agreed upon using the following
H: Hold Point. This must be verified by the Engineer.
I: Inspection is done in process for an agreed percentage
O: Quality check is done by the originator and can bye checked by any party.

2. Submit Desgin Calculations
a. Main Members
b. Secondary Members
c. Connections
d. Cold Formed Sections
e. Cranes (if any)
Note: Engineer has to give approval within the approval period (7-14 days). Give 1/2 cycle for resubmittals.

3. Material Submittals
a. Steel sections (Mill Test Certificates)
b. Cold Formed Sections
c. Bolts, nuts and washers and Anchor Bolts, sag rods.
d. Paint system
e. Translucent panels
f. Insulation system
g. Doors, Windows, Rolling Shutters.
h. Mastic, foam,

Note: Engineer has to give approval within the approval period (7-14 days). Give 1/2 cycle for resubmittals.

4. Shop drawings submittals.
For Every fabricated member. Engineer has to give approval within the approval period (7-14 days). Give 1/2 cycle for resubmittals.

5. Procurement
At this stage, the Fabricator has to order the material and bring it to his shop. This is usually a Hold point for hte Fabricator.

6. Fabrication
At this stage, the Fabricator must fabricate all the pieces. This is usually a Hold Point for the Engineer.

7. Treatment
At this stage, the painting or the galvanizing system is applied to each member. This is a hold point for the Fabricator.

8. Shipping to Site
At this stage, all the material is shipped to site. This is a hold point to the Fabricator.

9. Receipt of Material at Site.
At this stage, the material is received by the Erector. This is a hold point to the Erector.

10. Civil Works to receive the Pre-Engineered Building should be completed by this time.
a. Excavation
b. Footings; Shuttering, reinforcement, anchor bolts setting, casting, insulation, and insulation protection.
e. Fill in layers around Footings.
f. Slab on Grade: Blinding, insulation, insulation protection, reinforcement, casting, cutting of slab for shrinkage cracks.

11. Start Erection.
At this stage, the Erector start Erecting the following:
a. Anchor Bolts inside the Footings.
b. Main Frames.
c. Purlins and Girts
d. Partial Insulation and Cladding System
e. Crane Beams (if any)
f. Crane Girders (if any)
g. End walls
h. Doors and Windows and Rolling Shutters.
i. Gutters and Downspouts.

12. Testing, commissioning and handing over


The typical activities for a Road Project are:

1. Site Survey.
2. Cut activities
3. Fill in layers.
4. Testing at each layer.
5. Construct curbstone
6. Construct walkways
7. Install Electrical 1st fix
8. Install Mechanical 1st fix
9. Aspheting base layer
10. Ashpeting Top layer (wearing surface)
11. Marking of Road
12. Install Signage
