Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

HI Mohd.,

U may go for something better. There r MBA courses in market for strategic project management or strategic planning. These r far better than having PMP or PSP.

PMP / PSP is just a certification course and actually doesn’t add value to ur professional work, but its just a certification to ptove that u r at par with industry.

PMP salary survey states that there is 15-20% salary rise in US after completing PMP. This is of no use.

Masters in any specialised subject will definitely add value to you and at professional front and will also fetch more money than what u must be getting now.

U can check courses offered by hariott-watt university based in UK.

ans start bullshitting your client and constractor by flashing your PMP and PSP certificate.

Very simple "JUST TELL THEM (CLIENT AND CONTRACTOR) YOU HAVE PMI AND PSP CERTIFICATION"


so they have to listen and follow you

After 26 hours you give up your question regarding your future as a planner or project manager. Sorry, but that’s the first item to learn: Stay on the ball (I like this English expression) and be persistent if there is the smallest chance. I totally agree to Carmen and Anoon: start to use what you learnt in the job and why not continue to work with the theory in parallel? There are many possibilities, e.g. join actively your PMI chapter, look for co-operation to work on a certain topic of your special interest. Many ideas you can find in the PMBoK. Join an academic team, look for co-operation with someone from a university, participate in discussion here in PP. You’ll learn a hell.
One more certificate? I don’t believe this would bring you ahead. Maybe a master in PM after some more years of practical experience.
There are many more items. Just remember a lion who is hungry and there is a nice and tasty deer - if he would give up, he would remain hungry.

If you are looking to acquire more knowledge, then you need to stay in a job that will expose you to the realities of the game... Imn my opinion, experience is the best way to learn and develop your skills... You already have a job which is good, and yu also got the quals, which is even better... So what next? Stay in your job! and if you’re not satisfied with your current job, then you quit and get a better one... It’s as simple as that...
