Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi James

You asked in a private email about inputting cost data in v 10.

This was my response.

Anyway V 10 is no different from all other versions when it comes to adding data to activities.

The easiest way is to calculate your cost data on a spreadsheet and then line the entries up with your programme and copy paste into the chart spreadsheet.

To make things even simpler filter on TASKS ie no summaries hammocks or milestones and use the descriptions as the basis for your cost data spreadsheet.

If you are using multiple trades in your calculation it is even quicker if you allocate just one single resource to your bar chart - call it Work Cost or similar and then use your excell spreadsheet to bring the different costs to one final column.

Another trick is to use your costs to generate hours and then this will be the sole entry for your resource modelling - again copy paste in one excercise.

Best regards

Hi James

You will learn through experience that if you want the right answer then first think of the right question.

Do you have a problem with v 10 or are you just wondering whether to upgrade.

Ask and and you may get a response.

Best regards
