Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I have a list of about 1000 activities in an Excel file, and I want to copy them to a project in Primavera.

What would be the easiest way to do that?

I only need to copy the activity names, I will set the relationships, durations and dates later.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Excel import.

Within P6, create a single activity, then FILE>EXPORT>XLS>ACTIVITIES> and set a locaton and file name to export to.

Open this file in Excel, then use the single activity as a template and populate the remaining rows. Save and close the xls file.

Back in P6 FILE>IMPORT>XLS and point to the saved xls file and you should have a list of activities to work with.
