(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi All,

What settings must I use to get P6 to change Activity Duration when I add extra Resources?

Lets say I have I have a 10 day activity with 1 Resource on it and 100 units, when I add an additional same Resource I want the duration to reduce to 5 days and retaining 100 units.

Thanks,

Rod

YES! the User Preferences, Calculation, Resource Assignments option to: Recalculate ... instead of Preserve ...

that was the setting I couldn't remember, thanks Alexandre.

you can change the duration TYPE to fixed units. As you change the units this will change the duration.

you can also change the activity type to resource dependent. This will use the resource calendar as opposed to the activity calendar. You usually use this if you have multiple resouces on the same activity.
