Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Everyone,

Can anyone suggest a reason why duration % complete isn't rolling up to summary level?

My % complete type is the same for all activities, but I'm unsure what else to check

Thanks

Emma

Emma,

Duration % complete does role up.

Activity % complete does not role up, even if all of your % complete types are Duration.

The roll up or summarization uses costs to calcuate the % summary complete. You just cant use duration or how many activies are completed its not weighted but if you assign cost then you have a true weigh value and can calculate % complete because you have a basis to do this just having activities by themselves you have no basis to measure against.

if you are looking at the schedule % complete the Summary % complete when displayed on an organize band, will ALWAYS be calculated as Budget Costs for Work Scheduled X 100 divided by Budget at Completion or (BCWS * 100) / BAC, regardless of what earned value technique is selected for the activity's WBS.

The performance % complete column the Summary % complete when displayed on an organized band will always be calcuated as Budget Costs of Work Performed X 100 or (BCWP • 100) I BAC, regardless of what earned value technique is selected for the activity's WBS.
