Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I am trying to match "plan" dates in P6 to "start" or "actual Start" dates depending on the case using global change. For some reason "plan" dates do not change to "actual" dates despite committing to the global change. Was wondering if someone else has encountered the same problem and what measures you to make it work.

Not sure if you meant "actual start" instead of "start" - Nonetheless, I carried a global change using both criteria but no luck

****************

Where Activity status = completed

Then

Planned Start = Actual Start

Planned Finish = Actual Finish

****************

Where Activity status = completed

Then

Planned Start = Start

Planned Finish = Finish

Despite running above crieteria I have couple activities, where Planned Start and finish does not match Actual Start and Finish resp.

Any help  in this regard is appreciated

if an activity has and actual start then the start date gets the A letter next to the date the same holds true for an activit yhaveing an actual finish date

So run these 2 global changes

Global change #1 for completed activities

Where activity status equals completed

then planned start = Start

and planned finish =Finish

Global change #2 for activities started but yet finished

Where activity status equals in progress

then planned start = Start
